Well, if someone is cheap, that it is tosay someone is not generous. It is "小气"or "抠门" in Chinese.
Here are some examples for you to understandit:
1. Julie is toocheapto take a cab. (Itmeans that Julie doesn"t want to spend money taking a cab.)
Julie 太抠门了都舍不得打个车。
2. Oh, please, Mom, I just want to have onemore burger. Don"t becheap. (The kid"s mom is not willing to spend money on asecond burger.)
