克尔效应(Kerr effect)分子式：CAS号：性质：又称克尔效应(Kerr effect)。在电场作用下由于偶极取向引起的双折射现象。可用平行和垂直电场方向上折射率的差值表征电致双折射效应的大小。电致双折射效应是1875年由J. Kerr发现的。利用电致双折射效应可求得分子在溶液中的转动扩散系数，同时可用于研究分子的大小、电性质及其随环境变化的情况，但在固态高聚物中Kerr效应很弱。
