茂兰喀斯特森林位于荔波县城以东26公里处的茂兰喀斯特森林自然保护区，是喀斯特地貌上的原生性森林植被，是保存较完好的一块宝地。这里生长着多种珍稀树种，如银杏、鹅掌楸等，并保存有许多古老的野生动物。交通：1、贵阳客车站有贵阳到金城江的班车，荔波汽车站也有去金城江的大巴，经过茂兰自然保护区入口，大约11元一人，但每天班次不多。如果错过班车的话，就要按以下路线走：荔波——茂兰（大巴或小巴）——立化（小巴）——保护区入口（摩托车），如果人多包车也合算。告诉本地人到茂兰森林保护站下来，或者说在惊狮洞的路口下来。如果顺利的话，从荔波到森林保护站只要一个半小时。2、景区有公路通贵州独山、麻尾和广西河池、南丹。外省游客可乘火车到距离该景区最近的广西河池金城江火车站，再换乘汽车前往；3、也可以坐火车到黔桂线上的独山站，再换乘汽车经荔波县城前往茂兰。4、回程可乘坐从金城江去荔波的车，车经过保护区路的时间大约在8点到8点半左右。门票：其实就是森林保护站收的森林保护费，30元。小贴士：森林里面移动联通都没有信号，村里惟一的一台电话在村长家开的小店里，电话费很贵。但徒步到比较开阔的地方，说不定又有信号了。
